BIO

He's not from Texas, but he got here as soon as he could.

Dean Erickson was born in Seward, NE in March of 1995. His parents, Shawn and Diana, played a crucial role in shaping his taste in music that would go on to influence the songs he writes and sings today. One of the first concerts he got to attend was with his parents in Omaha, NE where they saw Matchbox 20. Dean begged and pleaded his parents to get him a drum kit at first, but it was his grandma that bought him his first guitar. That guitar would spend about 10 years collecting dust before he finally learned to play in the spring of 2017.

Through his teenage years, Dean was heavily into bands like Bullet for my Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu, and more, but it was his senior year of high school in 2013 when he discovered Texas Country, and most importantly the music of Cross Canadian Ragweed.

"I was drunk as hell sitting in my pickup on a Friday night just listening to the radio, and this song came on and I thought 'who the hell is this?', so I googled the lyrics and it was the song Alabama by Cross Canadian Ragweed". He says it was through discovering Ragweed that led him to find other amazing Texas artists like Reckless Kelly, William Clark Green, Wade Bowen, Stoney LaRue, Randy Rogers, and more.
